Pastors Ron & Bron Smith
Called to minister at the age of 24, Pastor Ron began his ministry over 40 years ago. He has spent the last 30 years pastoring First Independent Methodist Church in Eatonton, Georgia. In addition to his role as pastor, he makes several mission trips a year to Mexico. He has also ministered in the Philippines, Ecuador, Costa Rica and throughout the United States. Ministering along side her husband, Pastor Bronwyn (or Mrs. Pastor as she is frequently referred to) has a special place at FIMC. She is a spiritual mentor, mother, minister and so much more. She is our Women's Ministry Pastor and sings on the Praise and Worship Team. Pastors Ron and Bron have a passion to bring God's people into a deeper relationship with Jesus through the manifested presence of God. After a life changing encounter with the Lord in July of 1993, they have seen countless lives transformed by the saving, healing, delivering power of God. The lost are saved, the sick are healed, the addicted are set free. If asked to summarize the ministry the Lord has called them to, they would have to answer, We are called to do the works of Jesus according to Luke 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed (who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed and broken down by calamity), to proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord (the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound)" |
